The Newland Barn at Huntington Beach Wedding

What a beautiful wedding to kick off my 2019 blogs! Rebekka and Daniel’s Huntington Beach wedding at The Newland Barn was stunning and full of so much emotion, I felt so lucky to be a part of their day. Rebekka is originally from Denmark and moved to Orange County about four years ago. She and Daniel met through family friends, and, well… the rest is history! These two planned an elegant beach wedding to celebrate their nuptials, full of Danish traditions – which made the entire day so exciting!

The Wedding Day

The Newland Barn in Huntington Beach was the perfect spot for their wedding day. It’s historical charm provided a gorgeous backdrop to their outdoor ceremony and reception. Throughout the day, it was obvious that Rebekka and Daniel are very loved by their family and friends.  Some of Rebekka’s family even made the long trip from Denmark to be with the couple on their wedding day! It was extra special to have her family there as the couple chose to include many Danish traditions. Two of my favorites were the cutting of Rebekka’s veil and the tips of Daniel’s socks during the reception! It was very funny to watch his reaction – and see those bare toes!!

An Outdoor Reception

The evening was well-spent laughing and dancing in the beautiful weather during their reception. Honestly, it was one of the sweetest receptions I’ve been a part of! During the toasts, there wasn’t a dry eye to be found – even my own! Rebekka’s father gave the most heart warming toast about how whenever he is sad all he has to do is think of Rebekka’s smile and laugh and he’s put in a better mood. Rebekka’s younger brother sang her a Danish song and many more happy tears were shed. Perhaps the most exciting part of their reception was during the bouquet toss! Rebekka did a fake throw then turned around and handed the bouquet to her older brother’s girlfriend. Rebekka’s brother then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Everyone was crying!! For the rest of the night, the reception was filled with traditional American songs so everyone could dance. At the end, everyone sung the newlyweds a Danish song, lit sparklers and waved mini Danish flags to send off Rebekka and Daniel.

After Rebekka and Daniel’s exit, we went straight to the beach to catch the last bit of sunset and the images are breathtaking (and some of my favorites from the night)! Rebekka and Daniel, congratulations again! I wish you so much happiness together and I’m so grateful I was able to be a part of your incredible wedding day!
