Dallas Surprise Engagement Party and Proposal

Capturing proposals might be one of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer here in Texas. But, I have to admit, there’s something so special about capturing what happens after you say “I will!”… like, capturing a Dallas surprise engagement party for couple like Taylor and Doak. After the big moment was over, these two arrived to find all of their family and friends waiting to celebrate their engagement. Just seeing all the love and excitement in one room was SO powerful for me as a wedding photographer.

When Taylor walked in, you could immediately tell she had NO idea that we were all waiting for her! As she and Doak walked around greeting everyone, you could just feel the love and excitement for these two! The evening only got better as another group of Taylor’s friends arrived. I loved watching her react to being in a room surrounded by everyone that loves her and Doak. What a special idea this way for the two of them! All of the beautiful white and silver details only added to the event. It felt so modern and fresh, full of so much thought and love from Doak to Taylor.

One of the reasons I encourage couples to think about hiring a professional photographer to capture an event like this is simply so they can enjoy it. And so their family and friends can too! If you have someone there who’s sole job is to document the event and guests, no one else feels the pressure to miss the moments and instead capture them. Everyone can just relax and celebrate you two!! I’m so, so happy I was able to capture Doak and Taylor’s big party. And, all of the special moments that came with it!
